This year’s Chrono Classic 1/100, Victorinox Swiss Army’s extraordinary analog chronograph accurate to 100th of a second, has an elegant new silver finish.
A veritable machine for quantifying time, the Chrono Classic 1/100th now combines unique functionality with a very chic contemporary design. The addition of silver accentuates the timepiece’s signature look. The dial center has an eye-catching sun-ray satin finish, which contrasts nicely with the round polishing on the outer part. The cut-top pyramidal guilloché decoration on the two rotating discs pays tribute to the origins of Victorinox: the same guilloché pattern adorned the original Officer’s. The famous multi-purpose tool provides other stylistic elements, such as the indexes and the Swiss Army knife-shaped counterweight of the red central second hand.
By pressing the crown twice, the Chrono Classic 1/100 is transformed into a chronograph accurate to 100th of a second. The two rotating disks just above 6 o’clock display 10ths and 100ths of a second analogically. This ingenious mechanism is a unique attribute of the timepiece’s Swiss-Made FM13D quartz movement by Soprod, with whom Victorinox Swiss Army worked closely throughout the design and manufacturing stages.
The Chrono Classic 1/100 comes with a stainless-steel bracelet or a black leather strap. The latter is non-chemically tanned, using an environmentally friendly process, and then wax-treated. Victorinox Swiss Army is one of very few watchmakers that tan in this ecologically responsible manner.
Chrono Classic 1/100 is a worthy heir to the legacy of the Swiss Army knife, as are all watches produced by Victorinox Swiss Army. Designed to be practical, functional and reliable, it also delivers, in this new silver edition, a happy mixture of classic elegance and innovative technology.
