Happy Diamonds: free-roaming diamonds
In 1976, an original expression of horological creativity revolutionised the watchmaking world, when Happy Diamonds gave an unprecedented twist on the theme of diamond-set watches. During a stroll in the Black Forest, Chopard decorator and designer Ronald Kurowski marvelled at the sight of a waterfall: the drops of water bursting from it reflecting the sunlight and shimmered like the colours of the rainbow. This vision sparked his brilliant idea of enabling diamonds to shine more brightly by freeing them from their retaining claw settings and enabling them to move about freely.
